Rare copies of a 28 page pamphlet by Edith Connelley Ross and published in 1928 by the Kansas State Printing Plant. The publication highlights the mission's significance as a pioneer institution established by the Methodist Episcopal Church. Ross provides what is today a unique perspective on the mission's founding, its role in the education and assimilation policies of the era as well as the impact it had on Native American communities it was established to serve. All of this is is discussed in the context of a developing Kansas Territory and the challenges Reverend Thomas Johnson encountered establishing the mission.

Note: The pamphlet was published in 1928 and features a small swastika symbol. The swastika is an ancient symbol found in many cultures worldwide, including Native American traditions, where it represented good luck and harmony or the four cardinal directions. It's use on the pamphlet predates the the Nazi appropriation of the symbol.
