Xaquixe Glass Workshop

Studio Xaquixe produces exceptional and beautiful glassware products. Founded in 2002 by Salime Harpes, an engineer, and glass artist Christiam Thornton, together they have pioneered an innovative process that creates exceptional handmade glassware using practices that are environmentally sensitive and sustainable.
Their efforts include the full engagement of the community in Oaxaca, Mexico where they are located. 95% of the glass used in their manufacturing comes from recycled product collected locally. Additionally, they gather oils from local restaurants as a renewable energy source to be used in highly efficient burners developed and patented by Xaquixe. This greatly reduces their dependence on traditional fossil fuels.
Each piece of Xaquixe is handcrafted by local artisans using time honored and proven glass blowing techniques. Their commitment to traditional techniques produces collections of functional everyday glassware that individually are one of a kind pieces exhibiting their own variations in texture, shape and color.
Xaquixe are pioneers that have perfected their sustainable glassmaking process which now supports a valued community of artists in Oaxaca. Three Springs is proud to partner with Xaquixe and know that all of the Xaquixe products we offer will bring warmth and character into any home.
