Fran Borin, a lifelong Kansas resident, has written a 3 book trilogy geared towards young people that introduces the turbulent and sometimes violent history of Eastern Kansas. Overcoming the challenges of teaching young readers history, Fran has introduced us to Orion O’Brien who with her brother and friends, learn that ghosts can tell us fascinating things. Stories of Kansas history are brought to life in an entertaining and engaging manner that shares how the history of Kansas and events in the mid-1800’s shaped the future of the United States.
