Green Snake Ceremony

This is a children's picture book authored by Sherrin Watkins and illustrated by Kim Doner. The story centers around Mary Greyfeather, a Shawnee girl whose family prepares for a traditional green snake ceremony meant to bring Mary good health and fortune. Mary and the snake to be used in the ceremony become apprehensive about participating. This leads them all to find a resolution that honors the tradition while addressing their fears.
